Two new styles of closures! First is the "Trevor Tuff Elastic Slip Over the Head", this was designed and named after a tuff terrier, Trevor. This one slips over the head, it is 1" to 2.5" inches in length, dependent on the size of the necklace, the shorter the necklace, the shorter the elastic. This works well as it is a bit more forgiving with the stretch elastic, plus the fact you can slip it over the dog/cat's head. No more fighting to get your dog or cat to hold still!
The second type of new closure is the "Tie", this ties between two rings, typically two rubber O rings, or on some smaller necklaces it ties between two pewter rings. This is great as you have quite a range of adjustment, and gives you more "leeway" with measurements. The tie is either leather or rubber cord. The rubber cord is quite strong and would be more waterproof than leather, which would tend to get soggy when wet. Please specify which your prefer when you order!
For small dogs, the lobster claw, hook and eye or S hook work great. The S hook is one of my favorites, very neat looking and is made of pewter. Also the toggle is very neat type of clasp, that is also pewter or sterling, very well made and surprisingly has not come unlatched at all on my dog.
(The "Trevor Tuff" works great for any size as well as the "Tie".)
For larger necklaces (over 16") I recommend the swivel clasp. This is a very heavy duty clasp and will hold up to most normal big dog wear. It's easy to put on and off, and will not look to large on a bigger necklace. (Also as stated above, the new "Trevor Tuff Elastic" works great for large necklaces as well as the "Tie".)
Side note: Amber necklaces can be worn with a regular collar, my dogs wear regular buckle collars as well as the amber necklaces... but for those not wanting to have both on their dogs, I carry and make stamped name tags which will be attached to the amber collar. This will include the pet's name and a phone number! The tags will be high quality sterling silver, and I will also have a more inexpensive selection of copper and brass... check my store to order.
As every piece of amber is different, there will be slight differences and variations in every necklace made. The necklaces are custom made after you order, so if you have questions or comments please use the comment box on your order in my on-line store. I will try to accommodate everyone's request within reason.
I will try to ship your necklace out within 2 days after receiving the order. Mailing can take up to 4 days, if you have not received your order within one week, please e-mail me.
If per chance I know it will take longer, I will contact you and tell you this. If you have a rush order, please let me know this, and once again I will try to accommodate you.

To measure your pet, take a piece of string around its neck, the necklace should not be to snug. I advise adding an inch at minimum, you want to be able to get at least 2 fingers under it. There are a couple of options if you're just not sure of the size. Ordering the "Tie" will give you room for adjustment. Or if ordering a regular clasp, you can get an extender with it. The extender works best for medium to small necklaces.
